Events

The members of the Mercer County Sustainability Coalition work together to hold a number of events annually.  In the past, these include the Mercer Green Fest and the Farm to Table Dinner.  During the past seasons, informational sessions were held on the County’s recycling program and Sustainable Jersey for Schools.  Look for more offerings as we begin planning for the coming year.

Previously, Mercer Green Fest was held each year in March and celebrates and promotes local businesses and community groups, the arts, as well as holding cooking demonstrations, hands on workshops and presentations.   The Farm to Table Dinner, held each year at Terhune Orchards, showcases the best of Mercer County’s farms, produce and restaurants for us all to enjoy at this event that supports the Mercer Sustainability Coalition.  More information about each of these annual events is available at our Living Local Expo and Farm to Table pages.

Mercer Greening Together

Saturday, April 24, 2021 – Friday April 30, 2021

Interested in learning more about sustainability? Please join our Mercer County Sustainability Community for interactive and inspiring events throughout Earth Week 2021. On April 24th, we will begin with our Community Watershed Advocate led stream clean-ups and celebrate our favorite Mercer County Parks and open spaces. Our Mercer County Coalition partners are hard at work preparing online and socially distant outdoor events to celebrate throughout the week. This year’s special Greening Together, will take place over Earth Week and will feature sustainable local businesses and community organizations, local experts, and conversations with informational speakers on important topics. The popular free event will celebrate it’s 14th anniversary this year (last year was cancelled).

In 2019, Green Fest was held once again in the Rider University Alumni Gym on Lawrenceville Road in Lawrence. The event was free and open to the public. More than 90 eco-friendly vendors at the Green Fest were present and visitors heard from speakers on a variety of sustainability issues ranging from local school gardening and science projects, to the future of transportation, to recycling in Mercer County and more. Right now, Green Teams throughout Mercer County are putting together local events, resources, and activities.

Check back for more information and please add yourself to the email updates to receive all the details.
